- We would recommend revising the acid and base chapter before studying these notes.
There are 3 types of titrations that can come up:
- Acid-Base
- Redox
- Water
There are 8 different titrations that they can ask:
Acid-Base
- Sodium Carbonate vs. HCl
- Percentage of water of crystallisation in washing soda
- Find the percentage of ethanoic acid in vinegar
Redox (Potassium Manganate KMnO4 vs iron)
1. To find the percentage of iron in an iron tablet
Redox (Iodine vs Thiosulfate)
- Iodine vs Thiosulfate
- The amount of hypochlorite in bleach
Water
- The hardness of water in a sample.
- The amount of dissolved oxygen in water (this is also an iodine vs. thiosulfate titratin)
